Digital Education Lab is a multimedia production facility project initiated by Class Notes Series to produce digital instructional materials to support the local and rural schools in Lango Subregion in northern Uganda. It is a deliberate initiative to help schools in the region access quality but locally produced teaching and learning materials in order to meet the current curriculum and society demand. This project comes in response to situations where schools need such tools but they are not able to locally source these materials or expensively afford. For example in the current Covid-19 situation urban children and some few that can afford radios and television are accessing education through these media. Children in rural schools cannot afford to access these or even correctly follow and benefit the classes as this system of education has not been their norm.
This project therefore aims at setting up a workspace that will support digital education during both normal times. We plan to work with the local teachers and institutions to establish continuous production activities that will avail schools with enough materials. Schools with therefore establish digital libraries that will support this project.
